Manuel Alcaíno is an agronomist who specializes in the fruit industry. He is the founder of Decofrut, a quality control and service provider that has offices in 10 ports on three continents, and is dedicated to receiving and certifying fruit.
With more than 38 years’ experience in the industry, Manuel has held senior management positions in both national and international export companies, as well as serving as a research associate for the Department of Horticulture at the University of Stellenbosch in South Africa.
Decofrut also operates a research department that focuses on Southern Hemisphere fruit supply; publishing reports on the performance of fruit markets in Asia, Europe, Latin America and the United States.
